100% Pure: Purifying Seaweed Facial Mask (what do you mean there's something on my face?)

Nutrient rich Seaweed Mask detoxes facials pores, purges out toxins, leaves your complexion fresh and pure while organic seaweed nourish your skin with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Alpha Lipoic Acid and Vitamin C repairs damaged skin, restores elasticity, and strengthens cellular structure.

beauty.com is my latest obsession. Basically after the first time you order from them you get fantastic emails that give you free stuff with a $10 purchase (this has been my experience anyways) and a percentage of your previous purchase off the current one. They carry a large variety of brands and is affliated with drugstore.com. So while picking up any high end makeup and skin care items you can also purchase drugstore brands or toothpaste. Another great thing about beauty.com is that they are affliated with ebates which means in addition to the gift and discount you receive you can get 8% cash back. Another thing I love about beauty.com is that the free shipping amount is $25 opposed to Sephora's $50 minium. The shipping is quick and takes about 3 to 5 business days in my experience.

On to the review! 100% Pure's Purifying Seaweed Facial Mask is the first I heard of 100% Pure. It is an all natural, cruelty free company that is quite affordable. This mask only cost $10 and has enough mix to make about 5 or 6 facial treatments. The directions instruct you to mix the mask with equal amounts of the powder and water, tea or juice. I used water just to see how effective the mask was. My only serious issue in  mixing the mask was using too much water. I recommend putting the powder in your mixing vessel of choice and then slowly adding water until it is a thick paste opposed to the watery mess I originally had.

I'll admit this mask is not for the faint of heart. It smells.... like seaweed, not in a fresh way. I was a little grossed out at first. It smells weird its a gross green color, there's plants floating in it. I sucked it up, convinced myself that it wasn't that bad and I was right. The mask was a bit watery (due to my own fault) but I managed to get it thick enough to coat my face. After 10 minutes the mask was dry and started cracking. When rinsing it off, the dried mint leaves act like a gentle exfoliant.

The mask left my skin feeling a little tight which was resolved after a more through rinsing. My skin looked noticabley brighter and the slight reddish patches on my cheeks had disappeared. My skin was so soft I couldn't get over it. I did apply moisturizer immediately after washing my face as always but it was more for the SPF protection that it was for moisturizing. My skin felt very clean and soft for a few days after. I'm really looking forward to using the mask again; it worked so well. Next time I use it, I'm probably going to try it with tea as green tea contains antioxidants and will be an added benefit to my skin. It also might help with the fishy scent too! I most likely will order more products from 100% Pure as they are all natural, cruelty free, not at all expensive and effective.
